This role supports the EGH Pharmacy in delivering pharmaceutical services at EGH. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists and pharmacy supervisors in the provision of pharmaceutical care, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely distribution of medications. The role involves interacting with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and other hospital staff to support continuity of care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Candidates are expected to:
Process prescriptions & medication orders accurately
Dispense & distribute medications under the supervision of pharmacists
Operate & troubleshoot automation systems supporting medication supply & delivery
Assist in compounding non-sterile extemporaneous pharmaceutical products
Manage drug inventories, conduct stock checks, and monitor expiry dates
Maintain housekeeping standards appropriate to pharmacies
Ensure equipment are used and maintained appropriately
Support medication safety practices and report dispensing errors or near misses.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and relevant projects
Assist in training/train new pharmacy technicians and interns
Contribute to the growth of EGH, and EGH Pharmacy through relevant activities
Requirements
Educational qualifications:
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science from a local polytechnic, or
Pharmacy Technician Course Certificate (from the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore), or
Foreign-trained pharmacist with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
