Join a leading institution and play a key role in communicating impactful research and innovation. You'll work closely with researchers and internal stakeholders to develop compelling science-focused content while supporting the planning and delivery of communications initiatives.
Location: Pioneer
Salary: Up to $6000/month
Contract Period: 6 - 12 months, open to applicants who are available for part time roles
Key Responsibilities
Research, write and edit engaging articles, feature stories and profiles highlighting research, innovation and academic achievements.
Interview researchers and subject matter experts to translate complex scientific and engineering concepts into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.
Support the planning and management of content calendars, editorial schedules and communications campaigns.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information, images, approvals and other content assets.
Maintain content trackers, editorial pipelines and communications documentation to ensure timely project delivery.
Proofread, fact-check and prepare content for websites, newsletters, publications and other communication channels.
Assist with website content updates, digital asset management and communications reporting.
Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination, vendor liaison and maintaining communication workflows and standard operating procedures.
Support ad hoc communications, digital and branding initiatives as required.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.
Experience in content writing, communications, public relations, journalism or science communications is preferred.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information into engaging content.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in engaging academic and research stakeholders.
Highly organised with strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with website content management systems or digital communication tools is an advantage.
Detail-oriented, proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
