This is a full-time on-site role in Singapore for a Civil & Structural Assistant Project Manager (APM). The role combines project management responsibilities with technical expertise in civil and structural engineering. You will assist in the planning, design, coordination, and execution of construction projects while ensuring quality, safety, compliance, and timely delivery.
The APM will work closely with project management, design, and site teams, as well as external consultants and subcontractors, to oversee project progress, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of civil and structural construction projects from concept to completion.
Develop and monitor project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Support structural design development, including framing plans, drawings, and specifications.
Supervise and review work of design and drafting teams to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure adherence to local construction regulations, URA requirements, and codes of practice.
Monitor project risks, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
Oversee safety management and compliance with quality standards on-site.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior engineers and project team members.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, safety, and quality.
Undertake ad-hoc duties assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
At least 3 years’ experience in project management and/or civil & structural engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and engineering principles (concrete, steel, and temporary works design).
Proficiency in engineering and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, MS Office, scheduling tools).
Solid understanding of local building codes, URA regulations, and regulatory submission requirements in Singapore.
Proven skills in planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to coordinate effectively with stakeholders and manage project teams.
