Emergency & Critical Care – Veterinary Nurse (Day & Night) - #1111731

Job description:

Nursing duties such as but are not limited to:

• Provide nursing support for emergency and critically ill patients, including small animals and exotics.

• Assist ECC veterinarians with triage, patient monitoring, diagnostics, and emergency procedures.

• Monitor ICU and emergency patients throughout the day and night, ensuring comfort and stability.

• Perform anaesthesia monitoring and assist in patient recovery under veterinary supervision.

• Carry out diagnostics such as IV catheter placements, blood draws, and radiographs as needed.

• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure smooth handovers between day and night teams.

• Ensure treatment and procedure areas are clean, well-organized, and fully stocked.

• Participate in daily patient rounds and support effective communication across departments.

• Demonstrate excellent patient handling skills and maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.

• Contribute to a collaborative and respectful team culture within the ECC department.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in veterinary technology or relevant nursing qualification.

• At least one (1) year of experience in a veterinary hospital setting (ECC preferred).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Comfortable working day or night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Passion for emergency and critical care nursing and willingness to continue learning.
