Freight Operations Manager - #1098218

We are representing a multinational distribution and services business with operations across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and UK & Ireland. They supply a variety of products and services that are essential for their many customers in the successful operation of their businesses across various markets.

An opportunity is available for a Freight Operations Manager in Singapore. This position is for a local to manage a multi-office, fast-paced logistics operations based in Asia. You will be responsible for coordinating and optimising the transportation of goods across international borders, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while complying with relevant regulations and guidelines. Your primary objective is to efficiently manage the movement of goods, minimise logistical challenges, and maintain strong relationships with carriers and freight forwarders in the international freight process.

Reporting to Director - Global Supply-chain, key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing strategies to optimise freight operations.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Collaborating with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers and other service providers.
• Staying up to date with international trade regulations and customs laws.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate freight requirements.
• Managing international freight processes and costs whilst maintaining service quality.
• Identifying ad mitigating risks and disruptions.
• Indirectly supervising a team of logistics professionals in various locations throughout Asia.

To succeed in this role, you should have relevant qualifications in supply-chain or logistics management, coupled with a strong knowledge of international shipping operations, customs and import/export requirements. You should also have proven experience in managing international freight operations and an understanding of freight forwarding and logistics processes. Knowledge of international trade agreements, INCO terms and supply-chain best practices is essential.
