Responsibilities
Technical Specifications & Drawings
• Interpret and verify technical specifications, engineering drawings (2D/3D), and assembly/BOM requirements for Company’s products.
• Maintain accuracy and version control of technical documentation and specification records.
• Review incoming technical drawings and specification updates from HQ, flagging discrepancies or local application concerns.
• Support the technical specification and application requirements of Company's growing semiconductor customer base, including precision and high-cleanliness component requirements.
Technical Support & Customer Liaison
• Serve as the technical reference point for sales, customers, and distributors on product application, fitment, and compatibility queries.
• Prepare accurate, timely technical responses to customer and distributor queries.
• Support resolution of technical non-conformance issues, working with QA and warehouse/logistics teams as needed.
HQ Coordination & Systems
• Liaise directly with HQ engineering teams on specification clarifications, product updates, and technical escalations.
• Assist in developing internal technical reference materials and SOPs for the Technical Support function.
Project Management
• Plan and lead internal rollout of engineering specification and product data changes issued by HQ (e.g. drawing revisions, BOM updates), including timelines and stakeholder sign-off.
• Coordinate cross-functional input from Sales, QA, and Logistics on technical projects, tracking action items through to closure.
• Manage project documentation, status reporting, and risk/issue tracking for technical initiatives within the department.
Department Succession & Leadership Development
• Shadow and progressively absorb existing Technical Support workflows, escalation handling, and reporting responsibilities.
• Take on supervisory responsibility for the Technical Support Department as competency is demonstrated, targeted within 6–12 months.
Requirements
• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Minimum 5–8 years' experience in product engineering, applications engineering, or technical support — pneumatic, automation, or precision components industry preferred.
• Prior experience leading a small team, or independently owning technical escalations, strongly preferred — given the accelerated timeline to take charge of the department.
• Valid Risk Assessment certification (e.g. WSQ Risk Assessment / bizSAFE Risk Management), required for overseeing assembly SOP and workplace safety requirements.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and assembly/BOM documentation.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks)required — must be able to read, mark up, and verify drawings independently.
• Comfortable working across multiple internal systems; willing and able to learn new systems quickly
• Clear communicator, comfortable liaising with overseas HQ
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability and ownership mindset.
• Demonstrated leadership potential — this role is a direct pipeline into department management.
• Proactive and self-directed; able to manage priorities independently in a lean team environment.
