Electrical Engineer - #1168829
Celotti Workforce
About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on Electrical & Controls Engineer to own the design, programming, and commissioning of electrical panels and PLC safety controls for our complex site deployments.
For this role, we are not looking for pure robotics specialists. We want seasoned industrial automation, building controls, or integration engineers who understand the realities of deploying equipment into live, complex environments like healthcare facilities, cleanrooms, and brownfield sites. If you know how to interface external equipment with building management systems, hospital lifts, and automated doors, and you take pride in robust electrical design and disciplined commissioning, this is the role for you.
What You Will Do
Electrical Design Ownership: Design control panels and field wiring from scratch. Produce single-line diagrams, schematics, I/O lists, cable schedules, panel layouts, and BOMs.
PLC & Sequence Control: Program and commission PLC/HMI sequences, interlocks, alarms, manual modes, recovery logic, and equipment handshakes.
Complex Field Integration: Interface our automated solutions with third-party infrastructure, including hospital lifts, automated doors, RFID readers, sensors, and external conveyors.
Safety & Compliance: Design and validate safety circuits, emergency-stop chains, guard/door interlocks, and safe-state behaviors in coordination with machinery risk assessments.
Site Commissioning & Troubleshooting: Lead panel FAT, loop checks, and site commissioning. Diagnose intermittent field faults (grounding, power-quality, communications) in live operational environments without relying on undocumented onsite bypasses.
What You Must Bring (Non-Negotiables)
Experience: 5–10 years in industrial automation, building controls (BMS), material handling, or systems integration.
Relevant Industry Background: Proven experience deploying complex integrated systems into live environments such as hospitals, healthcare facilities, cleanrooms, or complex commercial buildings.
Hands-On Authorship: You have personally produced electrical drawings (using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, etc.) and have personally programmed or materially modified PLC logic.
Safety Control Expertise: Deep understanding of safety-control design, risk-reduction concepts, and the clear distinction between a normal PLC function and a safety-related function.
Industrial Communications: Solid grasp of implementing communications using digital I/O, Modbus TCP/RTU, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, or MQTT.
Bonus Points
Deep expertise in specific PLC ecosystems (Siemens, Beckhoff, Codesys, Schneider, Omron, Rockwell, or Mitsubishi).
Familiarity with machinery safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849-1, IEC 60204-1).
Experience managing panel builders and electrical subcontractors, ensuring high workmanship and accurate as-built documentation before handover.
