Job summary:
To support R&D tribology and reliability activities through hands‑on testing, analysis, and development of test methodologies for head/media reliability. This is an individual contributor role focused on technical execution and laboratory work.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct reliability and tribology testing for head/media designs according to established test protocols.

• Collect, compile, and analyze test data to support evaluation of head/media performance and reliability.

• Prepare test reports and summaries for review by the R&D engineering team.

• Perform basic failure analysis on post‑tested head and media samples with guidance from senior engineers and material science laboratories.

• Support improvements to existing test methods to meet updated customer or internal requirements.

• Assist in setting up new test fixtures, tools, and equipment for reliability and head‑media interference testing.

• Carry out test equipment setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.

• Work closely with R&D engineers and cross‑site technical teams to support knowledge sharing and test alignment.

• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with ISO standards, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Perform other engineering or laboratory support tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.

• Candidates with relevant qualifications but no prior working experience are welcome to apply. Comprehensive training will be provided.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory testing, data analysis, and scientific equipment.

• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
