Role Overview

We are looking for a strong hands-on Accountant who is keen to gain regional exposure across Southeast Asia and China.

This role focuses primarily on core accounting, reporting, compliance and all-round office administrative support, while providing exposure (not specialization) in areas such as treasury, capital markets, and cross-border finance.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Office Administration

Take charge of full daily office admin work including supplies management, visitor reception, travel arrangement, document archiving, license custody and basic HR auxiliary work.

2. Financial Accounting & Operations

Manage full set of AP, AR and GL accounting, bank reconciliation, journal entries and period closing to ensure accurate and complete financial records.

3. Financial Reporting & Closing

Prepare monthly management accounts, complete closing per SFRS and prepare supporting documents for financial reporting.

4. Regional & Intercompany Support

Handle intercompany reconciliations and provide financial support to overseas subsidiaries in Malaysia, Thailand and China.

5. Trading & Operational Finance

Support trading finance work including invoice handling, cost tracking and gross margin analysis with complete cross-border transaction documents.

6. Trade Finance Support

Assist with LC, bank ensure application and daily coordination of cross-border bank payments.

7. Credit Control & Risk Monitoring

Track customer receivable ageing and implement credit control measures to mitigate counterparty risks.

8. Internal Controls & Compliance

Assist in rolling out internal control systems and ensure full compliance with company policies and local regulatory rules.

9. Audit, Tax & Statutory Compliance

Coordinate with auditors, tax agents and company secretaries to finish audit, GST filing and all statutory submissions.

10. Transfer Pricing (Good-to-Have Exposure)

Support transfer pricing document sorting and intercompany cost allocation analysis.

11. Treasury & Capital Markets (Support / Exposure Only)

Assist bank facility, loan paperwork and interest tracking to gain basic treasury and capital markets exposure.

12. FX Exposure & Currency Risk Awareness

Process foreign currency transactions and monitor the company’s foreign exchange risk exposure.

13. Documentation & Process Improvement

Standardize financial filing archives and optimize daily finance workflows together with SAP B1 system upgrades.

14. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Cooperate closely with sales, operation, logistics and overseas finance teams to align financial and operational processes.

15. Regional Exposure & Travel

Take occasional business trips to Malaysia and Thailand to understand regional group finance structures.

16. Ad-hoc Responsibilities

Complete all other temporary finance, reporting and compliance tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• ACCA / CPA / CA or equivalent is an advantage

Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience

• Strong foundation in full-set accounting and reporting

• Experience in internal controls and compliance is preferred

Exposure (not mandatory) to:

• Trade finance

• Banking / treasury support

• Capital markets-related activities

Plus factors:

• Transfer pricing exposure

• Experience in trading / holding / HQ environment

• Regional exposure (SEA / China entities)

• Concurrent finance & admin working experience

Systems & Skills

• Experience with SAP Business One (SAP B1) preferred, with training provided.

• Strong Excel and reporting skills

• Good understanding of accounting standards and closing processes
