Finance Executive ( Part Time, Remote) - China Accounts - #1167374
Mothers Work Pte Ltd
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional to support the finance operations of our China business.
This is a finance and operational control role that focuses on ensuring accounting records, payment processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting are accurate, complete, and up to date. A key aspect of this role is understanding the end-to-end flow of financial information—knowing where data originates, how it is captured, validated, and recorded, and ensuring appropriate controls are maintained throughout the accounting process.
This is a remote, part-time consultancy role based in Singapore, requiring 2 working days per week (approximately eight working days per month). The successful candidate will work independently while collaborating closely with senior management and China finance teams. Our China operations have been established for over 15 years and are supported by experienced local finance teams responsible for statutory reporting and local compliance. Well-established processes are already in place, and comprehensive training and handover will be provided.
Key responsibilities
Review and approve weekly business payment requests for China entities.
Transfer Goods Received Notes (GRNs) from the China ERP system into MYOB to facilitate payment monitoring.
Record supplier rebates, incentive credit notes, supplier payments, petty cash transactions, and miscellaneous receipts in MYOB.
Record accounts receivable collections and reconcile customer receipts.
Process outstanding billings and record intercompany transactions.
Prepare monthly consignment billings for processing by the China finance team.
Update monthly cash balances.
Prepare monthly sales reports for commission calculations and sales turnover analysis.
Record monthly sales transactions in MYOB.
Generate gross margin reports from the ERP system.
Prepare month-end journals and support the monthly closing process.
Review the profit and loss accounts of each China entity for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare consolidated monthly management accounts for management review.
About you
Diploma or Degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional qualification.
Experience in operational accounting within retail, wholesale, or e-commerce businesses is preferred.
Experience supporting China operations is advantageous but not essential.
Proficient in MYOB. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems (such as Odoo) will be an advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting processes, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Able to analyse financial data and understand how information flows between operational and accounting systems.
Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in both English and Chinese, including the ability to read and understand Chinese business documents.
A high level of integrity, discipline, and personal accountability is essential.
