About the Role

We are a warm, bilingual family looking for a friendly and responsible native or near-native English speaker to join our home as an English tutor and companion for our 12-year-old child (Year 5 / Grade 5).

This is not a formal classroom role. The heart of the job is natural, immersive English conversation in everyday life, paired with light after-school homework support. You'll become a trusted role model and language partner who helps our child grow confident speaking English — at the dinner table, during play, and while studying.

What You'll Do

• Immersive English conversation: chat, read, play games, and share everyday moments entirely in English to build the child's fluency and confidence.

• Homework & study support: help with schoolwork (especially English, reading, and writing), review the day's lessons, and build good study habits — without doing the work for them.

• Afternoon & evening routine: greet the child after school, support a focused homework block (roughly 4–6 PM), then spend relaxed, screen-balanced time together until 9 PM.

• Positive role modelling: encourage curiosity, independence, and good manners; be a calm, supportive presence in the home.

• Light household help related to the child: e.g. keeping the study area tidy, preparing a simple after-school snack. (No general housekeeping or cooking for adults.)

Who We're Looking For

• Native or fluent English speaker (clear, neutral accent preferred).

• Genuine enjoyment of pre-teens and a patient, encouraging manner.

• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to set kind but consistent boundaries.

• Some experience tutoring, mentoring, or working with children (formal or informal).

• Comfortable with a 6-day rhythm and being part of a family household.
