We are looking for a proactive and responsible Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator to support the implementation of site safety, health and environmental requirements. The successful candidate will assist the WSHO / HSE Manager in ensuring site activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements, risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work requirements and client requirements.

This role is suitable for candidates who are interested in building a long-term career in Workplace Safety and Health within the construction, utilities, infrastructure and road works sector.


Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of company HSE procedures, site safety rules, risk assessments, safe work procedures and method statements.

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and areas for improvement.

  • Conduct weekly site inspections and follow up on corrective actions until closure.

  • Monitor site housekeeping and ensure work areas, access routes, storage areas and welfare facilities are properly maintained.

  • Ensure workers are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and complying with site safety requirements at all times.

  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings and weekly safety talks where required.

  • Conduct safety induction for new workers, subcontractors and visitors.

  • Check that machinery, equipment, lifting gears, tools and plant used on site are in safe working condition and supported with valid inspection certificates, permits or records where applicable.

  • Assist in monitoring high-risk activities such as excavation, lifting operations, hot works, confined space works, working at height, road works and plant movement.

  • Update and maintain safety records, inspection checklists, training records, PTW records, equipment records and other HSE documentation.

  • Assist in incident reporting, preliminary investigation, follow-up actions and preparation of safety reports.

  • Follow up on outstanding HSE issues raised during inspections, audits, client observations or management walkabouts.

  • Support digital HSE reporting, online forms, photo documentation, dashboards and safety tracking systems.

  • Assist the WSHO, HSE Manager and project team in all other safety, health and environmental matters.


Requirements

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health / WSH Level B qualification

  • Willingness to work at construction, utilities, road works or infrastructure project sites

  • Able to communicate with site personnel, supervisors, subcontractors and workers.

  • Basic computer and digital literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, PDF documents and mobile-based reporting tools.

  • Able to take site photographs, update digital checklists and maintain proper safety records.

  • Responsible, observant, willing to learn and able to follow up on safety matters.

  • Possess a valid Class 2B or Class 3 driving licence

  • Experience using digital safety platforms, Google Forms, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, mobile applications or dashboard systems.

Candidates with the following will have an added advantage

  • 1 to 2 years of WSH experience in construction, road works, utility works, civil works or infrastructure projects.

  • Working at Height Assessor certification.

  • Lifting Supervisor certification.

  • Perform Work in Confined Space Operation certification.

  • Confined Space Safety Assessor certification.

  • OPSOC certification.

  • Basic technical knowledge in construction activities such as excavation, lifting, road works, machinery movement, utilities installation, reinstatement works or permit-to-work systems.
