We’re Hiring: Expansion Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
As our business continues to expand into a multi-outlet, brand-driven retail organization, we are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Expansion Project Manager to lead new store development and strategic expansion initiatives.
This role goes beyond coordinating store openings. You will play a key role in managing end-to-end expansion projects, identifying new business opportunities, building standardized project management processes, and ensuring every new store and commercial project is delivered successfully from planning to execution.
Key Responsibilities
New Store Expansion Project Management
Lead end-to-end new store opening projects, including site evaluation, landlord and shopping mall coordination, renovation progress, equipment installation, merchandise preparation, POS/system setup, and pre-opening inspections.
Develop and continuously improve standardized store opening processes, including 45-day project timelines, opening checklists, equipment lists, manpower readiness plans, merchandise allocation plans, and project trackers.
Coordinate with designers, contractors, suppliers, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
Monitor critical milestones before, during, and after store openings to ensure operational readiness.
Support management in site feasibility studies, basic investment analysis, and project ROI evaluations.
Conduct post-opening reviews at 7, 14, and 30 days to identify improvement opportunities and optimize future expansion projects.
Business Development & Channel Expansion
Identify and develop new business opportunities, including pop-up stores, corporate gifting, B2B partnerships, brand collaborations, seasonal events, and temporary retail concepts.
Build and maintain relationships with shopping malls, corporate clients, business partners, and potential sales channels.
Coordinate corporate gifting proposals, product selection, pricing structures, sample preparation, and project execution.
Plan and execute pop-up projects, including sales targets, product assortment, manpower planning, marketing materials, and post-project evaluations.
Monitor project sales performance, profitability, payment collections, and overall project ROI.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth implementation of channel expansion initiatives.
Project Process & System Development
Establish standardized project management tools, including project schedules, responsibility matrices, budget trackers, issue logs, and post-project review templates.
Develop scalable SOPs for new store openings, pop-up projects, corporate gifting, and channel partnerships.
Improve cross-functional communication processes to proactively identify and resolve project risks.
Prepare regular project updates, resource planning, risk assessments, and management reports.
Operational Collaboration & Business Support
Partner closely with Operations to ensure new stores and channel projects are fully operational before launch.
Support product launches, key promotional campaigns, and seasonal initiatives across new stores and expansion projects.
Gather operational feedback to improve merchandising, store layouts, customer experience, and project execution.
Review business performance after project completion and recommend continuous improvements.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Retail Management, Marketing, or related disciplines.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in retail, F&B, chain store operations, business development, commercial projects, or project management.
Experience managing new store openings, shopping mall coordination, renovation projects, pop-up events, corporate gifting, B2B channels, or retail expansion projects is highly preferred.
Experience in retail, food retail, bakery, FMCG, or chain operations will be an advantage.
Core Competencies
Strong project management skills with the ability to develop project timelines, coordinate stakeholders, manage priorities, and deliver results.
Good understanding of retail store operations, merchandising, inventory planning, manpower planning, equipment setup, and operational readiness.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external partners.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate business opportunities, project feasibility, and return on investment.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of solving problems independently.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization and building processes from the ground up.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
Good command of English and Chinese is preferred.
