About the Role
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounts Executive to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for managing the company's full set of accounts, overseeing financial reporting, supporting project accounting, and driving continuous improvements to finance processes.
As a key member of the finance function, you will work closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, healthy cash flow, and effective financial controls that support the company's growth.
Key Responsibilities
Full Set of Accounts
Maintain complete and accurate accounting records, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Ensure timely and accurate year-end closing and support external audit preparation.
Accounts Payable (AP)
Process supplier invoices and payments accurately and on time.
Monitor payment schedules and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Prepare client invoices and monitor collections.
Follow up on outstanding receivables and support collection efforts.
Ensure timely billing and accurate revenue recognition.
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies where necessary.
Project Accounting & Cost Control
Monitor project budgets, project costs, and profitability across renovation projects.
Track project-related expenses and revenue against approved budgets.
Assist in monitoring project margins, variation orders (VOs), and work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Work closely with project managers and operational teams to improve cost visibility and financial performance.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Analyse financial performance, cash flow, revenue trends, and project profitability.
Prepare management reports and provide insights to support business decision-making.
Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting exercises.
Cash Flow Management
Monitor cash flow movements and maintain cash flow forecasts.
Support management in budgeting and financial planning activities.
Assist in ensuring adequate liquidity to support daily business operations.
GST, Audit & Compliance
Prepare GST submissions and supporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST regulations, and statutory requirements.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and corporate secretaries during audits and statutory filings.
Maintain proper accounting documentation and records for compliance purposes.
Process Improvement & Automation
Participate in finance digitisation and automation initiatives.
Review and improve accounting workflows, reporting processes, and internal controls.
Support the implementation of accounting systems, AI tools, and technology solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Identify opportunities to streamline finance operations and reduce manual processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with management, sales, design, project, and procurement teams to support business operations.
Assist in developing financial processes and reporting structures as the company continues to grow.
Provide financial support and analysis for business initiatives and operational improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA, ISCA, or equivalent) will be an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience handling full sets of accounts independently.
Prior experience working in an interior design, renovation, construction, architecture, engineering, or other project-based company will be highly advantageous.
Experience with project accounting, project costing, budgeting, work-in-progress (WIP), and profitability analysis is an advantage.
Experience working in a growing SME environment is a plus.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Singapore GST requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or equivalent ERP systems.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
Experience with finance automation, workflow improvements, reporting tools, or AI-powered productivity tools will be an advantage.
