Operation Manager (Sales Strategy & Route planning) Modern Trade - #1162444

Our client is a well-established consumer goods company with a strong presence across multiple household and personal care brands. Due to business growth and expansion, they are looking for a Sales Operations Manager (Modern Trade - FMCG) to support and strengthen their commercial operations team. They are located in the (North) – easily accessible.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the field sales workforce, ensuring execution standards and operational objectives are met.

• Manage deployment plans, territory coverage, and route optimization to maximize outlet productivity and market reach.

• Conduct on-site retail audits and store visits to monitor merchandising standards, product availability, promotional execution, and operational compliance.

• Develop performance measurement frameworks and monitor operational KPIs across field-based functions.

• Administer sales incentive programs and performance-based remuneration structures.

• Maintain and manage retail partnerships across major supermarket, convenience, and hypermarket channels.

• Ensure smooth implementation of in-store campaigns, promotional activities, and product launches.

• Review field reports and retail feedback to identify market trends, execution gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

• Coordinate listing initiatives, display opportunities, and shelf-space management activities with retail partners.

• Work closely with inventory planning teams to support stock availability and replenishment requirements.

• Liaise with logistics providers, warehouses, and distribution centres to facilitate timely product deliveries.

• Collaborate with commercial and marketing teams to ensure alignment of trade activities, assortment strategies, pricing initiatives, and retail execution plans.

• Provide market intelligence, outlet observations, and planogram updates to support commercial planning and retailer engagement.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of experience in FMCG sales operations, modern trade, or retail execution.

• Proven leadership experience managing and motivating a team of 20–30 field personnel, including Sales Executives and Merchandisers, with responsibility for performance management, deployment planning, and operational execution.

• Strong knowledge of sales incentive and commission schemes, route planning, territory coverage optimization, trade management, retailer engagement, promotional execution, and shelf-space management.

• Familiarity with logistics and supply chain coordination, including inventory planning, stock replenishment, and distribution processes, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
