About the Role

We are seeking experienced Systems Specialists (Mainframe Backup) to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise mainframe backup environments, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical backup systems and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain mainframe backup environments, including:
- CA-1 Backup System
- z/OS operating system
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- Tape management systems and automated tape libraries
- Backup hardware platforms (Data Domain, ECS, Hitachi CGX, Tape Libraries)
Perform software patching, hardening, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Install, configure, and support backup software and associated infrastructure.
Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning for backup storage requirements.
Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with hardware and software vendors for resolution.
Review and analyse system logs to identify and resolve operational issues.
Participate in technical exercises, testing activities, and operational readiness initiatives.
Provide operational support outside business hours, including weekends, when required.

Skills & Experience

Minimum 3-5 years experience with mainframe backup systems, specifically CA-1
Strong knowledge of z/OS operating system and JCL (Job Control Language)
Understanding of mainframe storage concepts including DASD, tape, and virtual storage
Experience with tape management systems and automated tape libraries
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in technology related to above mentioned hardware and software is preferred
Must be able to work beyond business hours including weekend when necessary
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
Have good command of written and oral English
