Network Engineer (HPC) - #1133320

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, deploy, operate, and optimize network infrastructure supporting HPC, AI, and data-intensive workloads. This role is critical to ensuring low-latency, high-bandwidth, and highly available networking for large-scale compute clusters used by research, engineering, and enterprise workloads.

The successful candidate will work closely with HPC system engineers, storage teams, and application specialists to deliver reliable and scalable network services for mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities:

1.       HPC Network Operations

• Operate high-speed network fabrics for HPC and AI clusters.

• Support low-latency, high-throughput networking for distributed workloads.

• Ensure optimal network performance for MPI, GPU-accelerated, and data-intensive applications.

2.       Network Technologies & Platforms

• Deploy and manage:

  • InfiniBand (HDR / NDR), RoCE, and high-performance Ethernet

  • Leaf-spine architectures

  • Data center switching and routing platforms

• Configure and maintain RDMA-enabled networks and QoS policies.

3.       Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve network performance, latency, packet loss, and congestion issues.

• Analyze traffic patterns and optimize network paths for HPC workloads.

• Support performance tuning in collaboration with system and application teams.

4.       Operations & Service Delivery

• Provide production support for HPC network environments, including incident and escalation handling.

• Participate in change, patch, and upgrade activities with minimal service disruption.

• Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.

5.       Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Automate network configuration and validation using scripting and automation tools.

• Contribute to standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Support capacity planning and future network expansion.

6.       Security & Compliance

• Implement network security controls aligned with organizational policies.

• Support segmentation, access controls, and monitoring for HPC environments.

• Collaborate with security teams on audits and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

• 5+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer in data centre or HPC environments

• Strong hands-on experience with high-performance networking technologies

• Proven experience supporting mission-critical, production environments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership

• Certifications: CCNP/CCIE is preferred or equivalent vendor certifications
