About the client:

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is constructing the Eva Copper Mine in Cloncurry, QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

The Eva Copper Mine is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony marking a major milestone in the company’s copper growth strategy and its long-term commitment to Northwest Queensland. The mine will have a minimum life of 15 years and will involve mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. Front-end engineering design is complete, and mine construction is expected to take up to 30 months with first production targeted for the second half of the 2028 calendar year.

About the role:

The Site Services Superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring that all supporting infrastructure and services are operational, maintained, and adapted to meet the evolving needs of the project. Their responsibilities during this phase are providing select services that enable construction activities and site operations to proceed efficiently and safely. This role is integral to transitioning from construction to operational readiness.

Areas of responsibility will include Infrastructure Development, Workforce Support, Resource Allocation, Safety and Compliance, Contingency Planning, Budget and Cost Control.

This role will be DIDO from local communities or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville to our site in Cloncurry NW QLD, with local candidates highly regarded. Local employees are paid a regional allowance and a competitive salary. Roster is 8 days on, 6 days off.

Please note this is a maximum term role aligned with the project completion and close out, anticipated to be 31 May 2028. However, there is a possibility the role could become a permanent position once the mine is fully operational.

Experience Required:

• Recognised qualification in construction or project management.
• Extensive experience (5-10 years) in construction industry with a proven track record in supervisory roles.
• Experience in managing site services such as logistics, utilities, maintenance, and construction services.
• Experience in managing a team of supervisors, tradespeople, and other site staff.
• Extensive knowledge of safety standards in construction and maintenance implications.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of interpreting details plans, drawings and specifications.
