Team and Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Manager who is an experienced professional responsible for overseeing the collection, management, and analysis of data within our organization. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security while developing strategies to optimize data management processes. The role is expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and provide insights that drive business objectives. Key Responsibilities
Data Oversight: Manage data collection, storage, and systems; ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Strategy & Governance: Develop data management policies; lead governance and compliance efforts.
Collaboration & Support: Work with infrastructure teams, project managers, and vendors; train staff on data practices.
Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data for insights; support data-driven decision-making.
System Maintenance: Design, troubleshoot, and optimize databases; support migrations and upgrades.
Leadership: Manage and mentor a data team; prioritize and oversee data-related projects.
Pipeline/Demand Management: Prioritize and manage data-related requests and projects
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data management or a similar role
Proven experience with data governance, data quality management, and data architecture
Skills and Knowledge
1. Technical Expertise
Database systems: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
Data modeling and database design
ETL and data integration tools
Data warehousing and big data technologies
Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
Programming/scripting: Python, R, SQL
2. Data Governance & Compliance
Data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., PDPA)
Data quality and architecture
Certification in data management (e.g., CDMP, DAMA)
3. Analytical & Visualization Skills
Data analysis and interpretation
Visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI
Attention to detail and high-quality standards
4. Leadership & Collaboration
Leading and mentoring data teams
Cross-functional collaboration with IT, business units, vendors
Influencing senior stakeholders and fostering a data-driven culture
