LV Electrical Engineer – Job Description

1. Rail Electrification Projects
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing low-voltage systems such as lighting, control, and protection circuits within rail infrastructure projects. Ensures full compliance with rail authority standards (e.g., LTA, SMRT) and coordination with traction power systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement LV systems such as signaling power supply, platform lighting, emergency lighting, and SCADA interfaces.
- Supervise site installations, ensure proper cable routing, earthing, and protection schemes.
- Conduct interface coordination with HV/OHE systems and third-party services.
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and energization activities in compliance with railway safety standards.
- Prepare RFI/RFA, red-line markups, and as-built submissions.
Preferred:
- Experience in MRT/LRT or depot projects.
- Familiarity with LTA regulations and safety protocols.
2. Building Services Projects
Job Summary:
Manage LV electrical services for commercial, residential, or institutional buildings including lighting, small power, and essential services (e.g., fire alarms, security systems).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and layout LV electrical distribution systems (DBs, final circuits, lighting schemes).
- Perform lux level calculations and cable sizing.
- Supervise conduit installation, DB fixing, and cable pulling.
- Interface with MEP disciplines and attend site coordination meetings.
- Review subcontractor submissions and ensure compliance with building codes.
Preferred:
- Experience in BCA-compliant building projects.
- Knowledge of local SS638 and Green Mark standards.
3. Data Center Projects
Job Summary:
Oversee LV infrastructure for mission-critical facilities with emphasis on power reliability, redundancy, and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate layout and installation of UPS, PDU, ATS, and LV panels.
- Support testing of grounding, phase balancing, and harmonic control.
- Ensure compliance with Tier-level requirements (Uptime/ANSI TIA 942).
- Assist with FAT/SAT of electrical panels and integration with BMS systems.
- Ensure seamless coordination with HVAC, ICT, and security systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in hyperscale or co-location data centers.
- Familiarity with EMI/RFI mitigation and centralized monitoring protocols.
