We are seeking an experienced and quality-driven culinary professional to lead food quality and process assurance across our production operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in both culinary arts and food manufacturing. This role requires a hands-on leader who can bridge R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure every product meets the highest standards of taste, texture, safety, and consistency.
Job Responsibilities
1. Food Quality & Safety
Conduct quality assurance checks on all ingredients, dishes, and production processes.
Monitor compliance with company standards, including taste profiles and textures, in accordance with R&D SOPs.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety management systems and hygiene standards.
Oversee production lines to identify issues and ensure products consistently meet quality standards.
2. Process & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and assist with internal and external food safety audits.
Investigate any food safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
3. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with the R&D team on all SKU trials and production runs.
Communicate quality standards, findings, and improvement measures to factory staff and management.
Contribute to the development and execution of strategies to enhance overall product quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
Culinary Degree / Diploma or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in culinary arts and food manufacturing.
Minimum 2 years of R&D Chef experience working with Food Scientists or Technologists in product development preferred.
In-depth knowledge of HACCP and other food safety regulations is essential.
Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, equipment, and production technologies.
Experienced in new product implementation, R&D trials, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skilled in establishing, maintaining, and updating SOPs to ensure compliance with operational controls and policies.
Proven success in product innovation and commercialization, with hands-on experience transitioning concepts from lab-scale to full-scale production.
Able to conceptualize innovative food products aligned with industry and consumer trends.
A strong team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Based in Tuas and willing to work early mornings, nights, or weekends when required.
