Job purpose:

Oversee construction activities and supervise the on-site team ensuring adherence to project specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), safety protocols, and timelines.

 

Duties and responsibilities

1.      Monitor progress of works in the projects of the designated region.

2.      Collaborate with Main Contractor and stakeholders to effectively execute the job scope.

3.      Work closely with Assistant Operation Manager (AOM) to ensure seamless operation workflow and improve department’s processes.

4.      Strictly monitor the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality of works and bring down rectification costs.

5.      Designate tasks to foreman and workers.

6.      Ensure compliance with ISO requirements:

a.       Ensure that all workers have been trained and certified for the works to be carried out.

b.      Participate in risk assessment and ensure risk control measures are implemented and maintained.

c.       Ensure that all legal and other applicable requirements are strictly adhered to.

d.      Conduct investigation into accidents, incidents and non-conformities.

e.       Conduct OH&S inspection and submit report to AOM.

f.       Ensure that permit-to-work system is implemented.

g.      Communicate risk assessments and safe work procedures to all affected persons.

h.      Inspect work area prior to work commencement and ensure that work area is safe from all foreseeable hazards.

7.      Conduct daily toolbox meeting.

8.      Submit rectification papers to AOM for documentation and analysis.

9.      Submit monthly repair cost reports to the Area Operations Manager (AOM) to keep management informed about repair expenses.

10.    Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

11.    Inspires and encourages colleagues and subordinates, fostering a positive working environment.

12.    Encourage creative thinking among workers to find innovative ways to execute tasks. Motivate them to explore alternatives, such as replacing machinery/tools/equipment, to reduce reliance on human resources.

13.    Oversee the batching plant operations, ensuring precise chemical dosing according to the design mix. Maintain equipment in optimal condition to prevent delays in concrete batching. Uphold the quality of freshly batched concrete to prevent on-site rejection.

14.    Undertake any other responsibilities/tasks as instructed by the designated AOM.

 

Qualifications

1.      Minimum Secondary Education Qualificatin

2.     Minimum 3 years experience in similar industry
