About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Veterinary Rehabilitation Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for a veterinary technician or animal healthcare professional currently undertaking certification in veterinary rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRT, CCAT).
You will work alongside veterinarians and rehabilitation specialists to provide tailored therapies that support recovery from surgery, injury, chronic pain, or mobility challenges. This position combines hands-on clinical care, rehabilitation expertise, and strong client communication to improve patients’ comfort, mobility, and quality of life.
Reporting to: Veterinary Rehabilitation & Hydrotherapy (VRH) Manager
Key Responsibilities
Consultation, Treatment & Patient Care
Assist in comprehensive evaluations of patients’ mobility, strength, and pain.
Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with veterinarians.
Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment protocols to achieve optimal outcomes.
Therapeutic Modalities & Techniques
Administer rehabilitation therapies including:
Hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill, swimming)
Laser therapy
Ultrasound and TENS
Therapeutic land exercises
Massage and manual therapy
Mobility aid application and training
Patient Handling & Monitoring
Handle patients safely using low-stress techniques.
Observe and adjust therapies based on patients’ comfort, fatigue, or pain signals.
Client Education & Support
Explain treatment plans, provide updates, and guide owners on at-home care.
Support pet owners emotionally and practically throughout the recovery process.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with veterinarians, nurses, and specialists across departments.
Participate in case discussions to ensure cohesive, holistic patient care.
Documentation & Records
Maintain accurate therapy notes, progress updates, and treatment records.
Mentorship & Leadership
Assist in guiding junior staff and sharing knowledge to maintain high care standards.
Requirements
Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or related field (preferred).
Enrolled in or pursuing certification in veterinary rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRT, CCAT, or equivalent).
1–3 years of experience in veterinary rehabilitation or related field (highly desirable).
Strong animal handling, communication, and teamwork skills.
