The Foundry Sourcing Senior Director is a senior leadership role responsible for managing external foundry partnerships and driving global sourcing strategies. The position ensures security of supply, cost competitiveness, quality, and technology leadership in alignment with corporate and manufacturing objectives. The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams, establish strong supplier relationships, and oversee long-term sourcing and contract management activities across regions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Provide direction and leadership to a team of Foundry Commodity Managers.
Define and execute comprehensive sourcing and foundry strategies to support competitive cost structures and secure supply.
Align sourcing initiatives with corporate manufacturing and technology roadmaps, including technology transfers and innovation programs.
Serve as the senior escalation point for foundry and supplier-related matters, ensuring timely resolution across functions and geographies.
Supplier and Foundry Management
Oversee foundry and supplier performance with respect to cost, quality, delivery, technology, and service.
Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with suppliers, acting as the principal escalation contact.
Select, categorize, and develop the supplier base to ensure readiness for emerging technologies and business requirements.
Support the identification and qualification of foundries to advance the organization’s front-end manufacturing strategy.
Cost and Contract Management
Establish and maintain cost roadmaps and drive cost reduction initiatives to meet financial objectives.
Monitor global supply markets, identify risks and opportunities, and leverage market intelligence to benefit the business.
Lead contract negotiations and manage execution to secure favorable terms regarding supply volume, flexibility, quality, reliability, and pricing.
Ensure that supplier selection and commercial decisions are based on objective, fact-based analysis.
Governance and Performance Management
Consolidate and report key performance metrics to senior management.
Manage escalations across internal and external stakeholders to ensure business continuity.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards in supplier development, quality assurance, and contractual obligations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Industrial Management, or a related field.
Min. 10 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, sourcing, or procurement, with solid knowledge of foundry operations and process technology integration.
Demonstrated success in leading international procurement projects, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
Strong knowledge of semiconductor supply markets, with proven ability to manage cross-regional supplier development.
Established leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional, international teams within matrix organizations.
Excellent business acumen combined with analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
Willingness to undertake frequent international travel as required.
