About the role
We are seeking for aspiring EHS Engineer (Environmental and Risk Management) to join our talented team. Our ideal candidate will support the division in the full spectrum of activities including identify, develop and implement procedures and systems.
What you will be doing:
Identify and develop policy and guidelines to ensure compliance with regards to environmental regulations, emergency response and disaster planning
Create, manage, review to ensure environmental programs and procedures are effective, efficient and conform to the regulatory requirements
Monitor and follow up on legislative changes in environmental law in the regions (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, and Thailand) and conduct applicability determinations on environmental regulations supported by verifiable facts
Consult with relevant stakeholders and governmental agencies on all environmental and risk management issues
Perform risk assessment review pertaining to environmental and risk management
Follow-up and review Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all chemicals to be imported or exported to ensure compliance
Identify, develop, and provide environmental training in accordance with regulatory requirements, company and department requirements/objectives
Collect, evaluate and communicate environmental-related metrics and performance measurements
Prepare mandatory regulatory reports for submission to regulatory agencies
Prepare and submit license and permit application to regulatory agencies
Assist in achieving sustainability goals by participating in committees and providing input to plan, execute and monitor projects
Conduct incident investigations and event follow-up, determine root causes, implement containment action, establish corrective and preventative action, and verify effectiveness
Organise/support outreach activities and promotional programmes
Other duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
Degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering or its equivalent
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an environmental management or EHS role, preferably within the engineering or manufacturing sector
Experience in environmental protection preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Strong communication and good interpersonal skills
Meticulous, organized and resourceful team player
Highly motivated individual who works independently with little supervision
