Job Summary
Job Summary:We are looking for a meticulous and strategic Assessment Book Editor (English or Science - Either One) to oversee the full development cycle of educational assessment materials. This includes content creation, editing, project coordination, budgeting, quality control, and market research. The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and creative, capable of delivering high-quality assessment books that meet curriculum standards and market needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit, proofread, and refine assessment content (e.g., multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions, comprehension passages, experiments) for accuracy, clarity, and curriculum alignment.
Ensure that the tone, difficulty level, and format are appropriate for the target educational level, following MOE or relevant curriculum guidelines.
Review and enhance manuscripts submitted by authors or freelancers, providing feedback to improve pedagogical value, question validity, and clarity.
Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, and illustrators to produce accurate, engaging, and pedagogically sound assessment materials.
Work with designers and layout teams to ensure clear presentation of questions, diagrams, tables, and answer keys.
Manage end-to-end publication workflows — from manuscript submission to print-ready files — including scheduling, quality assurance, and proofing.
Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct competitive analysis and market research to stay informed of trends in English or Science education and assessment formats.
Contribute ideas to improve content strategies and product differentiation in the market.
Perform other editorial tasks in support of team and company goals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English or Science related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in educational publishing, editing, or teaching (e.g., full-time teaching or tutoring).
Solid understanding of local education systems, assessment formats, and curriculum frameworks (e.g., Singapore MOE syllabus).
Familiarity with publishing workflows and editorial standards; experience with style guides (APA, Chicago, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent language proficiency in English (and/or Science content accuracy for Science editors).
Highly detail-oriented and hands-on, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently.
