UCT is seeking an experienced and talented Director, Materials to join our team in Singapore! The Director of Materials is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Materials department. Lead and manage activities related to production control, master scheduling, and purchasing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Interaction:
The Director of Materials will provide regular/daily updates to clients on the status of materials orders and work closely with our Manufacturing, Engineering, Account Operations & Supply Chain teams to ensure client satisfaction.
They will also act as the main point of contact for any client inquiries related to the Materials department.
Work closely with customers and other UCT sites to transition materials for new products
Purchasing:
The Director of Materials will be responsible for managing the purchasing function and ensuring that materials are procured on time, within budget, and to our clients' specifications.
They will also conduct first level negotiations for pricing variance or execute material procurement from alternate source when necessary and supplier performance management.
Materials Planning:
The Director of Materials will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive materials planning process that aligns with our company's business strategy.
This Leader will also manage the inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring that we maintain optimal levels to meet our clients' needs while minimizing excess inventory.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
Develop performance measurement systems including key performance indicators to drive excellence in materials management.
Manage inventory levels in quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
Develop material schedules and plan requirements for purchasing materials, using MRP and other planning systems.
Work closely with internal groups, including engineering, supply chain and quality, to ensure functional specifications are met, parts are available as needed, and product quality is maintained.
Develop and coach next level managers and team members.
Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
APICS/CPIM certification an advantage
10+ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a broad knowledge of materials planning, purchasing, production control methods, manufacturing methods and techniques.
Proven strong team building and employee development experience.
Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
Working knowledge of ERP/SAP/Kinaxis applications and MS Office Suite.
