Roles and Responsibilities
Dispense medication, drugs in accordance with the doctor’s prescription. Advise on side effects, dosing intervals and contraindication when needed. Manages and ensure healthy stock level. Raise Purchase requisition for purchase and obtain approval. Perform stock check and all other dispensary related duties as necessary
Assist in performing treadmill stress test under close supervision of the doctor on duty
Identify life threatening ECG patterns and alert the doctor on duty immediately
Perform finger prick blood tests and urine tests, including Interpreting and record urine test
Conduct diabetic retinal photography and diabetic foot screening onsite and offsite (or willing to be trained to perform this)
Conduct nurse counselling to patients (or willing to be trained to perform this)
Work closely with doctor to manage and control drug inventory and stock level
Monitor stock level of all consumables, reagents, and stationery. Raise Purchase requisition forms for purchase when needed
Collect and record basic biodata (e.g., visual acuity, near/distant, colour vision, wt, ht, BMI)
Perform vaccination and injection. Including the Administration and interpretation of Mantoux test
Assist the doctor on duty in carrying out any treatment or clinical procedures
Setting up appointments for patients and educate on pre-appointment preparation when needed
Ensure that resuscitation trolley and accessories are fully equipped, and all accessories are in optimal working order paying special attention to expiry date and condition of all items
Simple wound dressing and removal of stitches under instruction of the doctor
Perform phlebotomy when needed. Understand the indication and importance of the various laboratory investigations. Ensure proper patient’s identification and patient’s compliance with test requirement. Observe pre blood collection, blood collection and post blood collection procedure
Responsible for the administrative duties related to phlebotomy including labelling of samples and follow up
Provides patient education as and when necessary
Keep proper record, monitor, and do the necessary follow up on all preventive maintenance and repair for all equipment in clinical areas
Supervise personnel at senior enrolled nurse and below to ensure quality nursing care is rendered to patient
Other responsibilities:
Participate in all activities related to the smooth running of the clinic including orientation of new clinical staff.
Lead staff and exercise economy and care in the use of equipment and supplies.
Maintain a safe & clean environment for the patients at all times.
Ensure services delivered are prompt, professional and customer focus at all times.
Effectively handle customers’ inquiries, complaint, and feedback to achieve positive resolution.
Facilitate evaluation and continuous improvement of services.
Maintain current knowledge of types of investigations and components in Health Screening Packages available in clinic and able to advise on the most appropriate package. Provide counselling advise of beneficial health services to customers when necessary
Attend continuing education to upgrade nursing knowledge. Train clinical staff.
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Centre Manager and HQ.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Diploma in Nursing or equivalent
BCLS & AED certification required
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience. Applicants with 7 years or more experience may be considered for senior position
Preferably with experience in clinic and ILTC setting (e.g.: home care)
Possess management and supervisory skills
Good customer service skills
Good interpersonal skills
Good spoken and written communication skills
Report writing skills
