Roles & Responsibilities
A Mainframe/Batch Monitoring Operator is responsible for the 24x7 monitoring of DBS mainframe systems, ensuring system availability, performance and security. They will proactively identify and resolve issues as well as escalate problems as needed. This role requires working on night & weekend 12-hour shifts to provide continuous coverage and includes the following tasks:
1. Conduct system and batch monitoring and health checks using tools such as IBM IZMS (Omegamon), RMF, SDSF, etc. For example, z/OS, TSO, JES2 and subsystems such as CICS, DB2, MQ, etc.
2. Perform L1 Change Request support.
3. Perform L1 troubleshooting and escalation, such as
a) Create PMR (Problem Management Record)
b) Collect and upload must-gather documentation
c) Collect and upload documentation that L3 recommends
4. Helps system team to generate reports when required
Requirements:
1. Experience in mainframe/batch operations and monitoring.
2. Proficiency with mainframe/batch monitoring tools.
3. Ability to follow established processes and procedures.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Ability to work nighttime and weekend shifts.
