Anatomical Molecular Laboratory (ATOM) is a laboratory under the Department of Anatomical Pathology in Singapore General Hospital. The laboratory performs clinical profiling of cancers using next generation sequencing platforms and is also equipped to perform more conventional PCR based molecular assays. Besides clinical testing of patients’ samples, ATOM (formerly known as the Translation Pathology Centre) also actively collaborates with other partners in translational research of both neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases.
You will develop, optimize and maintain the analytical systems required by the laboratory. You will also conduct testing for laboratory tests and specialized investigations, assists in quality control programs and participates in the training of other technologists.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in related field, including Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computing, or relevant degrees or equivalent, and minimum 1 year of relevant job experience, whichever applicable.
Knowledge of script language and programming. Competent in Shell, Linux, Python, R and Perl scripts.
Experience in Unix/Linux environment, building and installation of Open-Source Software (Bioinformatics software tools a plus)
Prior experience in the following areas are preferable:
Molecular biology and/or molecular geneticsm, cancer genomics or population genetics
Next generation sequencing systems, running pipeline analysis or working with genomic or molecular data
Running jobs on high-performance clusters (HPC)
