QUANTITY SURVEYOR (Construction, Main-Con)
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on the scope, drawings, and specifications provided
Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and cost plans to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting
Conduct cost analysis and provide value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising on quality
Ensuring proper checks and endorsements for all costing and payments
Monitoring project costs and expenditures to ensure they stay within the available budget
Tendering and Procurement
Prepare tender documents, including BoQs, specifications, and contract terms
Assist in evaluating tenders and recommending the most cost-effective solutions for procurement
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with contractors and suppliers
Project Management
Manage purchase orders of materials and verify site requests to align with project requirements and timelines
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors
Coordinate closely with subcontractors on progress of work in line with project timeline and requirements
Monitoring and measuring subcontractors' work and assisting in certifying valuations
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery
Track changes to the project scope and prepare cost-impact assessments for variations
Financial Reporting:
Preparing and following up monthly progress claims in a timely manner
Evaluating progress payments and variation orders (Vos)
Ensure timely and accurate billing and payment processing in line with project progress
Develop and maintain project financial reports, including cost-to-complete estimates, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections
Job Requirements:
· Diploma in Building or its equivalent
· 3 years and above experience as QS in main-con companies
· Proven ability in contract negotiation, contract administration & variation orders
· Able to work independently, be meticulous, analytical with excellent problem-solving skills, proactive, a good team player & able to meet tight deadlines
· Able to write and converse reasonably well in English (must)
