Senior/Finance Manager - (Govt, 1 year, up to $5,5k) - #1174427

Take on a broad finance role covering financial reporting, fixed asset management, governance and process improvement. You will work with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver reliable financial information, strengthen controls and use data to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting: Manage month-end and year-end closing, review accounting schedules and prepare management reports in line with applicable accounting standards and public-sector requirements.
• Manage fixed asset accounting: Maintain accurate records of capital expenditure, asset movements and depreciation, ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting.
• Strengthen governance and compliance: Improve finance policies, procedures and internal controls, coordinate audit requirements, and manage GST submissions and tax queries with relevant parties.
• Deliver meaningful financial insights: Analyse financial results, investigate unusual trends and highlight risks, financial implications and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive smarter ways of working: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance finance systems and apply analytics tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

• A background in Accountancy or Chartered Accountant registration with ISCA.
• Preferably at least 3 years of relevant financial accounting experience, with exposure to internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Sound understanding of accounting standards, including SB-FRS, and relevant legislation such as the GST Act.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and confidence in resolving accounting issues.
• The ability to manage deadlines independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams, auditors and external advisers.
• Experience using Workday would be an advantage.
