Application Support Engineer (L2/L3 Support, JBoss, Banking Domain, Control-M, Disaster Recovery) - #1173864

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 application and production support for banking and enterprise applications across production and non-production environments, including application maintenance, enhancements, and functional testing.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents through technical troubleshooting, application log analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA) to minimise recurring issues.
• Perform database investigations and data validation using Oracle databases and SQL queries to identify and resolve application-related issues.
• Monitor application performance using AppDynamics and manage scheduled jobs and batch operations through Control-M.
• Support application server maintenance and troubleshooting, including JBoss and WebSphere, along with application changes and defect resolution.
• Assist in disaster recovery (DR) exercises, failover operations, and application restoration activities to maintain business continuity.
• Perform system-level troubleshooting and operational automation using Linux, AIX, UNIX, and Shell Scripting.
• Manage Jira support tickets, prioritise incidents based on severity, coordinate with clients and technical teams, and maintain technical documentation for timely issue resolution.

Requirements

• 7+ years of overall experience in application and production support, including at least 2 years of hands-on application support experience and 3+ years in the banking domain.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, AIX, and UNIX operating systems, including Shell Scripting for system troubleshooting and operational automation.
• Strong experience in incident and problem management, technical troubleshooting, application log analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Hands-on experience with Oracle databases, SQL queries, database investigations, and SQL performance tuning.
• Experience with AppDynamics for application performance monitoring and Control-M for job scheduling and batch processing.
• Strong experience in JBoss application server administration and working knowledge of WebSphere for application maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in banking application support, application enhancements, functional testing, disaster recovery (DR), and failover operations.
• Hands-on experience with Jira ticket management, change implementation, SLA management, client coordination, and technical documentation.
