What you’ll do
- Plan and manage physical dry bulk shipments, covering both inbound sourcing and outbound distribution
- Coordinate logistics end to end, including sea freight chartering, inland transport, storage and delivery into destination markets
- Oversee contract execution, including supplier and sales contracts, Incoterms and payment terms such as letters of credit and bank guarantees
- Manage the full documentation set: commercial invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, customs paperwork and quality certificates
- Ensure compliance with international trade rules, import/export controls, sanctions and local regulations in both origin and destination countries
- Track shipments, lead times and potential disruptions, and take corrective action quickly when issues arise
- Work with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, ports, customs brokers and authorities
- Partner with finance on freight, duty and tax cost control, trade finance, and currency and payment risk
- Forecast supply and demand gaps and support procurement, inventory and distribution planning to avoid stockouts
- Drive improvements in documentation workflows, routing, and supplier and carrier performance to reduce cost, lead time and risk
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business or a related field
- 3+ years in commodity trading, global supply chain or bulk materials trade; dry bulk experience is a strong advantage
- Working knowledge of international shipping, freight chartering, customs, Incoterms and trade documentation
- Proficiency in trade finance (LCs, payment terms) and risk management
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills across suppliers, carriers, agents and authorities
- An analytical, detail-focused approach to compliance, documentation and logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per ton and lead time
- Composure under pressure, with the ability to manage concurrent shipments and make fast decisions
- Strong learning agility and the ability to run shipments independently while supporting a collaborative Ops team
- Clear communication across multicultural, cross-border teams; additional languages (e.g. Mandarin) are an advantage
