Senior Project Manager / Project Manager (Major Events & Exhibition) - #1173444

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven and hands-on Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of major events, international exhibitions, sporting events and large-scale event infrastructure projects.

This position is suited for professionals with a strong background in event construction, technical production, site operations and project delivery, who are comfortable managing projects from tender and costing stages through onsite installation, event operations and dismantling.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

• Manage the end-to-end execution of large-scale events, sporting events, exhibitions and special projects.

• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, site coordination, installation and dismantling activities.

• Oversee temporary event infrastructure, exhibition structures, staging, event build works and related technical requirements.

• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, logistics, subcontractors and suppliers to meet project deadlines.

• Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality, safety and delivery standards.

Tendering, Costing & Profitability

• Prepare project quotations, cost estimates, pricing proposals and tender submissions.

• Review technical drawings, material specifications and construction methodologies to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.

• Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure and maintain targeted gross profit margins.

• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing and operational efficiency.

• Identify opportunities for value engineering, cost optimization and improved project profitability.

Site Operations & Stakeholder Management

• Lead onsite project teams, subcontractors, vendors and technical crews during construction, installation and dismantling.

• Develop and manage detailed construction schedules, manpower deployment plans and move-in/move-out arrangements.

• Coordinate with clients, venue operators, consultants, authorities and other stakeholders.

• Resolve technical, logistical and operational challenges promptly to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements, venue regulations and project specifications.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Event Management or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in large-scale event operations, event construction, exhibitions or temporary event infrastructure.

• Proven track record in delivering major sporting events, international exhibitions, national events, festivals or complex outdoor events.

• Strong experience in project costing, tender preparation, budget management and subcontractor coordination.

• Good understanding of construction methods, technical drawings, fabrication, installation and site operations.

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and perform effectively under demanding project timelines.

• Strong leadership, commercial acumen and problem-solving capabilities.

• Willingness to work onsite and outside regular office hours when required.

• Relevant workplace safety certifications would be an advantage.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with project experience involving international sporting tournaments, major exhibitions, outdoor festivals or similarly complex large-scale events will have a distinct advantage.
