Accounting & Operations Executive (Career Conversion Programme – Full Training Provided)

Looking to switch into accounting? We are hiring a mid-career switcher for our small team and will train you from the ground up. This role is supported by the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Accounting Professionals by Workforce Singapore and NTUC LearningHub. It includes a structured 9-month on-the-job training plan.

You will learn to look after the accounts for a small group of companies, including investment holding entities. You’ll work directly with the Director. Our processes are cloud-based and use automation and AI tools heavily. We are looking for someone who is very comfortable with technology and who doesn’t take numbers at face value.

IT, data, operations, administration, banking or insurance operations, procurement, or any role where you worked with systems, spreadsheets and processes. No prior accounting experience is needed.

What You Will Learn and Do

Accounts (with training)

• Handle the full set of accounts for multiple entities: accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, accruals, and month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare quarterly GST returns and support corporate tax filings (Form C/C-S)
• Process salary payments, CPF submissions and IR8A
• Reconcile bank and investment statements and follow up on discrepancies
• Work with external auditors, tax agents and corporate secretaries
• Help strengthen internal controls, approval workflows and documentation

Operations and Systems

• Use and improve our cloud accounting system (Zoho Books) and other cloud apps
• Use AI tools and automation to make bookkeeping, reconciliation and reporting faster and more accurate
• Check vendor invoices against quotations, contracts and agreed rates, flag overcharges, and follow up on corrections or credit notes
• Monitor spending, process payments and track recurring expenses for the company and the Director
• Support company administration, vendor management and compliance filings
• Handle confidential information with discretion
• Assist with other business operations

What We Are Looking For

• Diploma or degree in any discipline
• Very comfortable with technology: you learn new software quickly and like setting things up and making them work
• Experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) or automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Power Automate) in your work is a strong plus
• Very strong with numbers, meticulous and well organised
• Curious and good at solving problems: you spot things that don’t look right, raise them, and follow through until they’re resolved
• Keen to build a long-term career in accounting

Eligibility (CCP requirements)

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Graduated, or completed NS, at least 2 years ago
• Switching careers into accounting. Candidates with a continuous employment gap of at least 2 years may also be eligible.
• Based in Singapore. Interviews are in person and include a short practical exercise on spreadsheets and cloud tools.

What We Offer

• Salary: S$4,000 – 4,500/month, depending on experience
• Structured training under the CCP, working directly with the Director
