Senior Executive/Executive, Donor Engagement
The Senior Executive/Executive of Donor Engagement ensures every supporter experiences a consistent, timely and meaningful engagement journey. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the role translates stewardship plans into consistent day-to-day execution while maintaining high standards of donor experience, operational excellence and governance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Relationship Management and Stewardship
- Coordinate and deliver donor stewardship initiatives that recognise, thank and engage supporters throughout their giving journey.
- Manage donor touchpoints including welcome journeys, thank-you communications, impact updates, milestone recognition, renewal reminders and re-engagement initiatives.
- Ensure donor enquiries, commitments and requests are managed professionally, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in donor meetings, networking opportunities, programme visits and engagement activities to develop relationship management and fundraising capabilities.
- Manage selected donor relationships and stewardship portfolios as assigned, with increasing responsibility as capability develops.
2. Stewardship Strategies and Portfolio Growth
- Operationalise the Society's donor stewardship strategy by coordinating and managing engagement activities across the entire donor lifecycle, ensuring supporters receive a consistent and meaningful experience.
- Monitor stewardship timelines and proactively identify overdue or missed engagements, working closely with relationship managers to maintain agreed service standards.
- Monitor stewardship service standards and operational KPIs, identifying trends, gaps and opportunities to strengthen donor retention, engagement quality and operational effectiveness.
- Support fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives and partnership activities through research, coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct prospect research and prepare background information, donor profiles and meeting briefs for relationship managers.
3. Engagement Delivery
- Coordinate the delivery of donor meetings, programme visits, stewardship events and engagement activities, ensuring a positive and seamless supporter experience.
- Prepare correspondence, proposals, reports and presentation materials that support effective donor engagement and fundraising activities.
- Develop and maintain stewardship calendars, engagement trackers and operational schedules to ensure timely execution of stewardship activities across donor portfolios.
- Coordinate donor segmentation, mailing lists and communication schedules to ensure supporters receive timely, relevant and personalised engagement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate donor recognition, impact reporting, communications and engagement opportunities.
4. Governance and Administration
- Support the upkeep of donor records, engagement histories, pledges, preferences and relationship information within the Society's donor management system.
- Develop and maintain workflow processes, standard operating procedures and operational templates that support consistent donor engagement.
- Continuously review stewardship workflows and recommend process improvements that enhance donor experience, strengthen operational efficiency and improve team productivity.
- Ensure all stewardship activities comply with organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, fundraising regulations, due diligence processes and data governance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualifications preferred.
- Relevant experience in fundraising or relationship management will be advantageous, particularly within the social service or non-profit sector.
- Experience engaging diverse stakeholders and building professional relationships.
- Familiarity with governance, compliance or fundraising regulations will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
