Software Engineer (Javascript/Java/Springboot) - #1170887

Location: Central (Hybrid)

Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Subjected to renewable/conversion)

What You’ll Do

• Build and enhance cloud-native applications and data gateway services on AWS.
• Develop secure APIs and integration services using Java, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Support data exchange through APIs, SFTP and message queues.
• Develop modern web applications using JavaScript, React and Next.js.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Work with AWS API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS and other serverless/containerised services.
• Support deployments, monitoring, incident response and day-to-day production operations.
• Maintain strong CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with product teams, external agencies and vendors to deliver integrations end-to-end.
• Leverage AI development tools and agentic coding workflows to improve engineering productivity.
• Ensure solutions comply with government ICT security requirements and engineering best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline with minimum 4-7 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native development.
• Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with React / Next.js and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API Gateway, system integration and data transformation.
• Experience with SFTP and message queues such as AWS MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ or Amazon SQS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, Oracle or other relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform would be greatly advantageous
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, DevSecOps and automated testing.
• Good understanding of software architecture, system design and production support.
