About the role

Edubuilder Pte Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Tutor (Primary 5 and 6) to join our tutoring team. This is a part-time position based in the Pasir Ris Drive East Region. As an English Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students' language development during a critical stage of their primary education. You will work with small groups or individual learners to strengthen their English language skills, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and oral communication. This role is essential in helping students build confidence and achieve academic excellence in English whilst fostering a genuine love of the language.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the needs of Primary 5 and 6 students

• Assess students' language proficiency and identify areas for improvement in reading, writing, listening and speaking

• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence

• Utilise various teaching methodologies and resources to make lessons interactive and enjoyable

• Provide constructive feedback to students on their progress and areas requiring further development

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements

• Prepare detailed lesson plans and learning materials aligned with curriculum objectives

• Monitor and track student performance, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to maximise learning outcomes

What we're looking for

• Degree qualification in English, Education, Linguistics or a related field

• Demonstrated teaching experience with primary school students, preferably Primary 5 and 6 level

• Strong command of the English language with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• In-depth knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and composition

• Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson materials

• Patient, approachable demeanour with excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong organisational and time management abilities

• Familiarity with the Singapore primary English curriculum is advantageous

• TESOL or similar English teaching certification is preferred but not essential
