Engineer-Permanent Way & Civil Structures - #1168600

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Functional Lead in managing the maintenance of Permanent Way or Civil Structures systems across NEL, SPLRT and DTL.

• Plan, schedule and oversee maintenance activities to ensure system safety, reliability and availability.

• Lead and supervise maintenance teams, including manpower planning, staff development and administrative matters.

• Ensure maintenance works and documentation comply with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

• Identify workplace hazards, implement control measures and investigate safety incidents.

• Manage contractors and coordinate maintenance projects where required.

• Prepare teams for internal and external audits.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and work processes.

• Ensure strict adherence to company safety standards and regulations.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Functional Lead or HOD.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, or Diploma in Engineering with relevant working experience.

• Preferably 3 years of post-graduate experience, with exposure to railway maintenance operations.

• Knowledge of engineering principles, preferably in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to lead and motivate teams in a dynamic operational environment.

• Willing to be on 24-hour standby for emergency response and work during engineering hours (overnight shifts).
