Job Summary
The Assistant Director, Marketing Communications reports to the Director, Communications & Liaison, and provides strategic leadership over MENDAKI’s marketing and brand communications. The role focuses on strengthening MENDAKI’s brand equity, visibility and engagement through integrated marketing strategies, campaigns and digital platforms.
The Assistant Director leads the development and execution of marketing communications initiatives across corporate marketing and digital media, ensuring consistent brand application, impactful storytelling and effective audience engagement in support of organisational priorities and programmes.
Key Responsibility Areas
Corporate Marketing
Serve as the brand guardian, ensuring consistent application of MENDAKI’s brand identity across all touchpoints.
Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to promote organisational initiatives and programmes.
Oversee the production of marketing collaterals, merchandise, and website content.
Drive employer branding and shape the brand persona of leadership to strengthen organisational reputation.
Manage publicity efforts to enhance MENDAKI’s visibility in the corporate and community sectors.
Digital Media
Lead social media management for corporate pages, ensuring a strong and authentic digital presence.
Define and maintain MENDAKI’s social media identity and voice.
Develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including paid campaigns and SEO/SEM initiatives.
Build and manage influencer engagement to amplify MENDAKI’s reach and impact.
Creative & Content Production
Oversee content creation for digital and offline platforms, ensuring high-quality storytelling and visual appeal.
Manage video production and editing for campaigns and organisational events.
Monitor trends to keep MENDAKI’s content fresh, relevant, and engaging.
Ensure timely delivery of visual assets for marketing and digital initiatives.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the Corporate Marketing and Digital Media teams.
Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Ensure effective resource allocation and project management across multiple campaigns.
Requirements
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in marketing communications, with leadership and supervisory responsibilities.
Strong expertise in brand management, campaign execution, and digital marketing.
Demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively and manage stakeholder relationships across different levels.
Experience in social media strategy, influencer engagement, and content production.
Flexible, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
Strong network in the corporate sector is an advantage.
Good knowledge of trends in the Malay/Muslim issues is an advantage.
A degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Digital Media, or a related discipline from a recognised institution is preferred.
