Job Summary
The Facility Team Member is responsible for maintaining the warehouse, office, and building facilities to
ensure a safe, clean, secure, and efficient working environment. The role includes performing preventive
maintenance, coordinating repairs, monitoring facility systems, supporting contractors, and ensuring
compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Building Maintenance
Perform routine inspections of the building and surrounding premises.
Carry out minor repair works such as doors, locks, lighting, painting, plumbing, and general maintenance.
Report major defects and coordinate repairs with external contractors.
Ensure all facility equipment is maintained in good working condition.
Preventive Maintenance
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance according to the maintenance plan.
Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and service reports.
Monitor the performance of facility equipment and recommend improvements.
Utilities & Equipment
Monitor electrical, water, air-conditioning, fire protection, and other utility systems.
Perform routine checks on warehouse equipment and building infrastructure.
Report abnormal conditions immediately to the Facility Manager.
Contractor Management
Coordinate and supervise contractors performing maintenance or repair works.
Ensure contractors comply with company safety rules and permit-to-work requirements.
Verify that maintenance work is completed according to specifications.
Safety & Compliance
Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
Conduct routine safety inspections and report unsafe conditions.
Assist during fire drills, emergency response activities, and facility audits.
Ensure fire safety equipment remains accessible and serviceable.
Housekeeping
Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping of common areas and facility rooms.
Ensure waste is disposed of properly and recycling practices are followed where applicable.
Support pest control activities and monitor housekeeping standards.
Documentation
Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and service reports.
Update asset lists and maintenance schedules.
Assist in preparing reports for audits and management review.
General Support
Respond promptly to facility-related requests from internal departments.
Assist in office moves, equipment relocation, and facility improvement projects.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Facility Manager.
Job Requirements
NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification
1–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, warehouse operations, or a related field. Experience in logistics or warehouse environments is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building maintenance.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
Preferred Additional Certifications
Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) training – Level B
Fire Safety awareness training.
First Aid certification (preferred).
Forklift licence (preferred, where applicable).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Completion of preventive maintenance as scheduled.
Response time to maintenance requests.
Number of repeat maintenance issues.
Facility downtime.
Audit compliance score.
Safety incident rate.
Contractor performance and work completion.
Housekeeping inspection results.
Working Conditions
Work primarily in a warehouse and office environment.
May be required to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays when maintenance activities are scheduled.
Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance duties.
