About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive WSH Co-Ordinator to join the team at Maxcon Construction & Engineering Pte Ltd. This is a full-time position based in the Yishun North Region. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our construction and engineering projects maintain the highest standards of workplace safety, health, and environmental compliance. As a WSH Co-Ordinator, you will be the driving force behind our safety initiatives, working across multiple projects to embed a strong safety culture and ensure all regulatory requirements are met. This position is fundamental to protecting our workforce and maintaining our reputation as a responsible construction company.
Key responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety, health, and environmental (WSH) policies and procedures across all project sites
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with Singapore's safety regulations and company standards
Prepare and maintain comprehensive WSH documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans
Organise and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to all site personnel and contractors
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Liaise with regulatory authorities and respond to compliance inspections and enquiries
Monitor and report on WSH performance metrics, maintaining records and preparing reports for management review
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safety is embedded into all project activities
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety practices and champion innovation in WSH management
Manage safety equipment inventory and ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and maintained
What we're looking for
A recognised WSH qualification such as a Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent professional certification
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a WSH coordinator or similar safety management role within the construction industry
Sound knowledge of Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regulations, the Workplace Safety and Health Act, and relevant codes of practice
Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders
Excellent organisational and documentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management software or databases
A proactive and safety-first mindset, combined with the ability to influence and champion safety culture on site
Physical capability to conduct site inspections and work in construction environments
Preferred: Experience with ISO 45001 or other safety management system certifications
