Job Purpose

The Executive Engineer / Senior Engineer in the MEE Department shall be responsible to perform engineering analytics, provide engineering solutions and perform defect investigations to support the Electrical and Electronics Systems of the Trains, Engineering Trains and Plant Equipment. He shall be required to independently conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, engineering analytics of condition monitoring systems and develop engineering solutions to the problems identified. He shall also be required to conduct data engineering, data analytics and generate visualizations to recommend actionable insights for maintenance and engineering units in Trains.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyze and develop engineering solutions, propose relevant modifications and work with Ops and Maintenance team to implement and validate safety and effectiveness of the solutions.

2. Identify and consolidate engineering standards for the respective mechanical and electrical systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.

3. Conduct certification of mechanical, electrical, and electronic workshop maintenance capability in accordance with the Workshop certification procedures.

4. Develop work instructions, test parameters, testers and test benches to enhance workshop repair and overhaul capability.

5. Identify / develop / evaluate alternate parts, out-of-manual repair and modifications to support obsolescence management of existing Trains assets.

6. Perform defect investigation to identify root cause and follow-up, including developing of fault tree analysis, FEMCA and conduct of forensic investigation.

7. Perform review of project design specifications to support LTA projects to ensure adequate safety, reliability, maintainability and operability considerations.

8. Work in any Maintenance Depots or facilities and comply with all Safety Requirements.

9. Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines).

10. Develop data analytics and condition monitoring capabilities to support the evolution from preventive to predictive maintenance.

11. Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Work Experience

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution

• Demonstrated dashboarding competency in PowerBI or equivalent dashboarding software

• Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.
