Primary Objectives of Position
Assist to coordinate and schedule assigned engineering projects
Assist to Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
Perform inspections and verification as assigned by the project team.
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager, and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
Assist in ensuring the engineering deliverables and its functions
Major Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain static data in an organized and efficient manner to facilitate discussions and review.
Ensure the rectification work conducted by Contractors are of satisfactory standards.
Liaise for support and assistance on tasks which are inter-departmental in nature.
Monitor budgets as well as Contractors' schedule of work.
Accurately allocate and advise on the required resource to achieve the aims of the project.
Attend design, coordination, failure Analysis, etc. meetings to ensure the smooth run of projects.
Prepare status reports and regularly monitor budgets, contractors and schedules. Allocates project resources appropriately; approves expenditures; employee contractor contracts. Keeps an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects.
Presents procedures, rules and regulations to those involved in the project; maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures. Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulations.
To perform any other task assigned by supervisor.
Specific Safety Responsibilities
Ensure staffs/contractors have all correct tools, equipment and information to enable them to produce overhauled or repaired items which are safe for use.
Undertake Monthly Safety Observations to ensure that the work area is free from hazards and is properly controlled.
Job Specifications
Minimum Education / Qualifications
Recognised Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering from reputable Polytechnic.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience
At least 7 years of post-diploma working experience in Railway Industry.
Knowledge/Skills
Familiar with the operation and maintenance of rolling stock.
Commission and Testing of rolling stock and equipment.
Project management and supervision skills
MS office skills
Decision making ability and leadership skills
Attributes

Well-developed planning and organising skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Able to manage the project activities.
Must not have colour blindness.
