UI/UX Specialist – Industrial Dashboards & Data Visualization

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable UI/UX Specialist to join our team in delivering advanced digital transformation projects for the manufacturing and process industries. This role focuses on designing intuitive, high-performance dashboard applications and data visualization solutions that transform complex industrial data - production metrics, quality records, energy consumption, alarms, and OEE - into clear, actionable information for operators, engineers, and business decision-makers. You will work directly on customer-facing deliverables as well as contribute to the UX of our own software products. This position is perfect for designers passionate about technology, data visualization, and delivering exceptional user experiences in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver customer-facing dashboard applications and data visualization solutions for manufacturing and process industry clients.

• Translate complex industrial datasets - time-series trends, KPIs, OEE, production records, alarm summaries, and quality metrics - into clear, intuitive visual layouts.

• Create wireframes, user flows, interaction models, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma or equivalent tools.

• Define and maintain a consistent design system, component library, and style guide for use across dashboard and reporting projects.

• Conduct user research and usability testing with plant operators, engineers, and business stakeholders to validate and refine designs.

• Collaborate with front-end and automation engineers to ensure accurate and performant implementation of designs within Ignition Perspective.

• Contribute to the UX design of Logical Systems’s own software products, ensuring consistency, usability, and visual quality across releases.

• Participate in customer workshops, requirements sessions, and FAT/SAT reviews to align interface design with operational needs.

• Continuously improve internal design standards, templates, and reusable UI patterns to accelerate project delivery

Qualifications

Required

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years of UI/UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating data-rich dashboard or reporting application design.

• Proficiency in Figma (required); experience with Adobe XD or equivalent prototyping tools is a plus.

• Strong understanding of data visualization principles — charts, gauges, tables, trends, KPI cards, and drill-down navigation.

• Experience creating and maintaining design systems, style guides, and reusable component specifications for handoff to development teams.

• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with or strong interest in industrial or manufacturing environments is a significant advantage.

• Knowledge of accessibility and usability best practices for data-heavy applications.

• Fluent in the English language.

• Flexibility to support team members and customers during off-hours when necessary.

• Willingness to learn and travel occasionally within the ASEAN, Western Europe & North America regions.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Ignition Perspective or similar industrial dashboard platforms.

• Experience designing for manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, downtime analysis, quality metrics, or energy consumption.

• Background in designing reporting applications, BI dashboards, or MES/ERP front-ends.

• Basic front-end coding skills (HTML/CSS) to prototype and communicate design intent.

• Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (pharma, food, chemicals)
