Position Summary
The Assistant Service Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the chiller workshop, ensuring repair activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with the Company's quality standards. The role oversees a team of technicians and engineers, provides technical leadership, supports customer technical discussions, and works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and high-quality repair solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Team Leadership
Lead and supervise the daily operations of the chiller workshop, ensuring repair targets, quality standards and delivery commitments are achieved.
Manage, coach and develop a team of technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Plan and allocate manpower and workshop resources to optimize productivity and operational efficiency.
Technical & Customer Support
Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, repair evaluation and root cause analysis.
Review inspection findings, validate repair recommendations and approve spare parts requirements.
Participate in customer technical discussions, providing engineering advice and practical repair solutions.
Operational Excellence
Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and workplace safety requirements.
Monitor workshop performance and implement initiatives to improve productivity, turnaround time and repair quality.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective planning and execution of repair activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, equipment servicing, maintenance or repair operations.
Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising technical teams.
Experience in industrial equipment servicing, rotating equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, pumps, compressors or similar mechanical systems is preferred. Prior chiller experience is advantageous but not essential.
