Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Data Center Operations Engineer to support day-to-day data center operations across multiple customer sites in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-and-feet support, coordinating operational activities, managing incidents, performing hardware installations and decommissioning, and ensuring that data center environments remain secure, safe, and operationally efficient. This role requires flexibility to work in a 24x7 shift-based environment and travel between data center locations as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily data center operations, including supporting users, visitors, subscribers, and vendors.

• Facilitate and oversee visitor activities within the data center while ensuring adherence to security and access procedures.

• Collaborate with internal teams and project stakeholders to support operational and project-related activities.

• Manage and resolve operational and production-related issues in a timely manner.

• Handle incident management during assigned shifts and coordinate escalations where necessary.

• Provide hands-and-feet support across multiple customer data center sites in Singapore.

• Perform equipment installation, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

• Install, rack, stack, and decommission servers, network devices, and other data center equipment.

• Execute structured cabling activities, including patching, labeling, and cable management.

• Conduct routine server health checks, data center walkthroughs, reporting, ticket management, and email queue monitoring.

• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards by ensuring cardboard, debris, and contaminants are removed from data center facilities.

• Receive and track equipment deliveries and maintain inventory records and storage rooms.

• Manage visitor records, access logs, and relevant documentation.

• Ensure compliance with data center operational standards, safety requirements, and security policies.

• Support planned maintenance activities and service requests across multiple sites.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Data Center Operations or Infrastructure Support role.

• Hands-on experience working in a data center environment.

• Strong understanding of 24x7 data center operational processes and procedures.

• Experience with server racking and stacking activities.

• Knowledge of structured cabling, patching, labeling, and cable management.

• Basic troubleshooting skills for server and hardware-related issues.

• Basic understanding of data center facilities, infrastructure, environmental controls, and industry standards.

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

• Willingness to travel between data center locations within Singapore when required.

• Flexible to work rotating shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and on-call support when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or equivalent).

• Data Center-related certifications.

• Experience working with external vendors and service providers.

• Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural and diverse environments.

• Strong team-player mindset with a customer-focused approach.

Working Environment

• 24x7 operational environment with rotating shift schedules.

• Multi-site support across data center locations in Singapore.

• Occasional travel between sites for incident response and planned maintenance activities.

• High level of availability and flexibility required to meet operational demands.
