About the role
Galaxy Studio Interior Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Carpenter to join our team in the Woodlands North Region. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in overseeing carpentry operations, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and driving operational excellence across our manufacturing and interior solutions division. As Senior Manager Carpenter, you will be responsible for leading our carpentry teams, managing projects from conception through completion, and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship whilst optimising efficiency and profitability. This role is integral to our continued growth and success in the competitive manufacturing and logistics sector.
Key responsibilities
Lead, manage and supervise carpentry teams, ensuring all members maintain high standards of craftsmanship and adhere to health and safety protocols
Oversee project planning, scheduling and execution of carpentry work, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to specification
Conduct quality assurance inspections of all carpentry work to ensure compliance with design specifications and customer requirements
Recruit, train and develop carpenters and apprentices, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Manage inventory of materials, tools and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost efficiency
Liaise with clients, designers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate project progress
Implement and maintain carpentry workshop best practices, including health and safety standards and operational procedures
Analyse performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction
Prepare reports on project outcomes, team performance and resource utilisation for senior management
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes and industry standards in all carpentry operations
Priority will be given to candidates with experience in operating production lines in the 4.0 industrial sector.
What we're looking for
Minimum 8-10 years of carpentry experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role
Proven expertise in carpentry techniques, materials and tools, with a strong understanding of design specifications and building codes
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
Strong project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling and resource allocation
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and design documentation
Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in carpentry and manufacturing environments
Experience with inventory management and cost control in a manufacturing or workshop setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Relevant carpentry qualifications or certifications (IVA, NTC or equivalent recognised qualifications preferred)
Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management software.
