Senior Infrastructure Engineer (ETA Platform & Data Centre, 1 year contract) - #1165396

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support physical and virtual server environments that host the Bus ETA platform.

• Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, and system health to ensure optimal availability and reliability.

• Oversee the administration and maintenance of operating systems, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and server hardware.

• Ensure data centre facilities, including UPS systems, server racks, and environmental monitoring systems, are properly maintained and operational.

• Coordinate and review routine maintenance activities, including patching, firmware updates, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

• Manage change requests and service requests, ensuring implementation is completed accurately and within agreed timelines.

• Lead incident troubleshooting, recovery efforts, and root cause investigations for infrastructure-related issues.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery processes, including failover drills and restoration testing.

• Collaborate with vendors, application teams, and stakeholders during maintenance activities and incident resolution.

• Maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and infrastructure reports.

• Participate in standby or on-call support arrangements to support critical operational incidents.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an experienced infrastructure professional with strong technical expertise in server administration and data centre operations, coupled with excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience managing and supporting enterprise server infrastructure in a data centre environment.

• Hands-on experience with Linux server administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

• Familiarity with container technologies such as Podman or similar container platforms.

• Experience working with PostgreSQL databases and virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

• Knowledge of storage platforms, backup solutions, and data centre infrastructure operations.

• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis capabilities.

• Experience supporting business-critical or high-availability systems will be an advantage.

• Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors, and support teams.

• Willingness to participate in on-call or standby support when required.
